Ben and Dad prepare for a Mid-Autumn gathering by making a paper moon, setting out mooncakes, and saving an extra chair and plate for the moon. Family arrives, but clouds hide the sky, so everyone imagines funny reasons the moon might be late.
Ben draws a big blue whale with an orange door while Dad writes down his ideas. When a knock comes from the paper, Ben and Dad step through the door into the whale.
At bedtime, Luca and Grandpa follow a ribbon of sunset up cloud stairs into the sky. Together they roll up the sunset, untangle a starry sky bear, fold the leftover clouds, and help the moon settle down.
